Dr Rayna Denison is a Senior Lecturer in Film at the University of East Anglia. She is the author of Anime: A Critical Introduction (Bloomsbury, 2015) and co-editor of the Eisner Award Nominated Superheroes on World Screens (University of Mississippi Press, 2015, co-edited with Rachel Mizsei-Ward). Rayna is widely published in the area of anime studies and Japanese film studies, as well as teaching Japanese Cinema and Animation at UEA. You can find her work in journals like Cinema Journal, Japan Forum, Velvet Light Trap and the International Journal of Cultural Studies. Rayna is currently working on an industrial history of Studio Ghibli and has a book forthcoming on Princess Mononoke (Bloomsbury, 2018).
