Heart-stopping documentary Icarus has been announced as the winner of the inaugural Audience Favourite Award at Sundance Film Festival: London. Festival-goers voted in the thousands for their favourite features across the four-day bonanza at Picturehouse Central.
The ruthless worlds of international sports and politics rarely collide as spectacularly on screen as they do in Bryan Fogel’s documentary thriller that’s sure to set off convulsions of controversy. Exemplifying the special bond between filmmaker and subject, Icarus is a portrait of the sacrifice some people make to stand up for truth, placing you at the heart of an international game of cat and mouse where a miscalculation can cost you your life.
Picturehouse Central will host a repeat screening on Friday 9 June.
