October 13 will see the next chapter in the Phoenix Picturehouse’s 104 year journey, from its 1913 beginnings as the North Oxford cinema to its present day identity at the centre of the Jericho community as the ultimate place to enjoy arthouse, independent, live events and blockbusters under the same roof.
The Phoenix closed for a much-needed refurbishment on 6 August: the works have seen a complete redesign of the auditoriums, focussing on improving the sight lines and sound issues. Customers will be treated to brand new tiered seating, new projectors and sound systems and larger, higher screens that will make the movie-going experience look feel and sound better than ever before, with no heads to block your ability to read subtitles. Join us for the reopening of our beloved cinema and enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco or orange juice and a piece of celebratory cake to all ticket holders for the evening of 13 October.
We can’t wait to toast in the next 104 years! What’s on
