We take our planet and the climate crisis seriously. From Edinburgh down to Exeter, we play our own small part in the safekeeping of our planet and look to set an example for how cinemas can best reduce their energy consumption and waste.
Our green actions include converting waste kitchen oil into biofuel, running recycling initiatives, and working with UK–based stockists for our food and drink, including Thirsty Planet water, who provide cost-effective, sustainable clean water to communities across sub-Saharan Africa. We're very excited to have begun a nationwide rollout of laser projectors, which are 70% more energy efficient than lamp projectors.
We also run Green Screen: a community-led space to discuss environmentally-focused cinema, with expert panels and friendly post-screening discussions. Everyone is welcome to 'continue the conversation' after the film in your cinema's meeting space – you can enjoy a free tea or filter coffee when you bring a keep cup!
